The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, also known as Houston METRO or simply METRO, is the transit provider for Houston, Texas. METRO operates bus, light rail (METRORail), bus rapid transit (Quickline), HOV and HOT lanes, and paratransit service (under the name METROLift) in the city as well as most of Harris County. METRO also operates bus service to two cities in Fort Bend County. Since 1996, METRO operated 1,015 New Flyer-built & 491 MCI-built buses.
