Greyhound Lines, Inc., usually shortened to Greyhound, is an intercity bus common carrier serving 2,400 destinations across North America. Founded in 1914, the company's first route began in Hibbing, Minnesota, and the company adopted the Greyhound name in 1929. While Greyhound is well known for its regularly scheduled passenger service, the company also provides a number of other services for its customers such as Greyhound Package Express delivery service to thousands of destinations in North America as well as charter packages. Greyhound has additional operating entities: BoltBus, serving the Northeast, Pacific Northerwestern, and Southwestern regions of the United States; Greyhound Express premium city to city services; and Greyhound Connect, a service that connects rural communities to larger Greyhound markets in the United States. Greyhound has operated 818 Prevost-built buses.
