• A zero-emissions vehicle, or ZEV, is a vehicle that emits no exhaust gas from the onboard source of power. Examples of zero emission vehicles include battery electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen and straight electric vehicles that draws power from overhead wires (generally suspended from roadside posts) using spring-loaded trolley poles.
